DiGiCo Blue Box MADI-CAT5 Converter

The first in a new line of solution-based products from DiGiCo, the Little Blue Box allows you to share a D-Rack (sold separately) between two or three consoles. This BNC to Cat5e converter connects an SD9 or SD11 digital mixing console, D-Rack, and MADI console (SD8, SD7, or D-Series). The Console RX. The auxiliary output is intended to be the redundant run on an SD8 or SD7. It could also be split off to another console with one SD9 or SD11 using a Cat5 connection and one MADI pair for the SD8, which could then feed off to a recorder or another console.

The SD9 MADI switch allows you to select which console is controlling the D-Rack. SD9 mode allows an SD9 or SD11 and another SD Series console to share one D-Rack with the SD9 or SD11 as the controller for the analog gain settings on the D-Rack. MADI mode lets an SD9 or SD11 and another SD Series console share one D-Rack with the other SD Series console (plugged into the MADI connector) as the controller for the analog gain settings. A second BNC MADI output is provided as an additional split of the D-Rack signals to a third console or multitrack recorder.
